Places to Visit

Pratapgarh Fort
This is 24 km from Mahabaleshwar. Morepant Trimbak Pingale at the Command Shivaji built the fort. It was an era that the mighty General of Bijapur; Afzal Khan was killed by the great Maratha warier Chatrapati Shivaji Raje. The Bhavani Temple and Tomb of Afzal Khan can be visited. Makarndgad
Known as the saddle back since it resembles the look of a saddle is a gigantic fort standing amidts the Koyna Valley.It is foretold that the Pandawas dwelt here during their 14 years of exile and as told in history this fort was also under the auspices of Shreemant Chatrapati Shivaji Raje.The fort has a few remanences of the Pandaw period on the fort with a temple dedicated to lord Shiva.

Tapola
